This certificate was presented to Pieter Hamstra (1898-1980) in recognition of his actions during World War II. The signature is that of Arthur William Tedder, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force and Marshal of the Royal Air Force. Arthur Tedder represented Great Britain at the signing of the second Act of Military Surrender on May 8, 1945 in Berlin, and signed the Act on behalf of General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
