The purpose of this site is to share the ancestry of my parents, Jack Hamstra and Margaret Venema-Hamstra. Their homeland is Friesland in the northern part of the Netherlands. Most birth, marriage and death records since at least 1811 have survived, and from these records I have been able to find and document many generations. On the Hamstra side I have found further links to European royalty, whose ancestry has been documented.
Only ancestral family trees are included here, and these are limited to what I have been able to find so far. Every person and every relation necessary to establish ancestry in both trees has at least one citation to what I consider to be a reliable source.
I will continue to work on adding narratives, family history and photos, and to expand the trees if possible.
The ancestry web pages and pdf files are generated by the software used to build and store the family trees, which is Gramps 4.1.2-2.
